Technical Sales Engineer

We are currently seeking technical sales people to join our Sales & Applications Team located at our headquarters in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate for this challenging position shall possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanic Engineer preferred)
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills
  • Comfortable with daily interaction with customers, outside sales representatives, equipment vendors and our engineering team
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD)
  • Experience in technical sales of industrial equipment (preferably pollution control and/or combustion related)
  • ASPEN PLUS (or similar) modeling software is preferred but not necessary.
  • A strong desire to sell technical solutions to our customers

Typical daily responsibilities will include the following:
  • Investigating and qualifying sales leads
  • Preparing conceptual designs & cost estimates
  • Preparation of technically sound and commercially attractive proposals
  • Conducting sales presentations for customers when required
  • Assisting outside Sales Representatives as needed
  • Negotiating and closing orders

Senior Electrical, Programming and Field Service Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serves as a member of multiple project design and delivery teams
  • Assists with P&ID development
  • Responsible for control system design and instrument selection
  • Responsible for PLC and operator interface programming
  • Field Commissioning, Start Up, and Tuning of installed projects
  • Control Panel design, check out, and acceptance testing
  • On site training of the customer’s operations team

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills / Abilities:
  • Experience with Combustion Systems (burners, air heaters, thermal oxidizers, etc)
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial controls
  • Safety focused with experience working in an industrial plant environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of time withing the US and Internationally
  • Ability to prioritize activities and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confident and curious problem solver who can think and deliver under pressure
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build long term relationships with customers

Project Manager

General Duties:

Serves as the internal PCC project lead and the customer’s primary interface for the design, procurement, and installation of PCC systems. Engages with the customer throughout the project life cycle to manage post-purchase order scope modifications, overcome execution challenges, and broadly communicate project status and delivery risks. Performs core project engineering tasks and integrates PCC technical and support staff capabilities in accordance with established procedures to ensure safety, consistency, efficiency, and quality. Receives technical guidance and quality control supervision from the Project Group Leads but is accountable to the Operations Manager. Operates as a committed member of the PCC team dedicated to continuous learning and improvement. Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Specific Responsibilities: Drives project delivery and effectively communicates progress through the 3 major phases of the PCC Project Management process: Design, Procurement, and Installation.

  • Acts as the Single Point of Entry into PCC for the project customer
  • Masters project requirements to include customer specifications
  • Develops a Project Management Plan appropriate for the project scope
  • Maintains regular and recurring customer contact
  • Quickly elevates disputes to the appropriate level for quick resolution
  • Executes Change Management process
  • Reports project progress and milestones in accordance with established procedures
  • Utilizes the Technology Group’s “Design Memo” as a guideline to perform mechanical design including thermal calculations, refractory selection, structural design, and development of general arrangement drawings, P&ID’s, nozzle schedules, fabrication drawings, pipe skid drawings, installation drawings, and installation and operation manuals.
  • Integrates Process, IC&E, CAD, Engineering, and Procurement groups to orchestrate design and project delivery
  • Receives, reviews, and approves vendor documentation
  • Reviews vendor quotes for technical acceptability and provides feedback to Purchasing
  • Secures “out-sourced” engineering disciplines from external resources as necessary
  • Navigates projects deliverables through required Quality Control events
  • Leads After Action Reviews after equipment shipping and upon project completion
  • Gathers customer feedback after equipment shipping and upon project completion
  • Performs logistical and administrative duties as required to deliver the project on schedule
  • Maintains and closes out Project Files for historical reference
  • Team player who – during project lulls – selflessly contributes time, talents, and expertise to support colleagues

Business Development/Territory Manager – Gulf Coast

Process Combustion Corporation (PCC) is a highly reputable and respected company in the combustion engineering and pollution control field servicing several industries including the global chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical, and wood products. All projects, large and small, are based on high engineering standards, strict quality control, firm delivery schedules, stringent environmental regulations, and carefully selected suppliers. Primary responsibility is to manage and implement all business development and marketing activities for the Gulf Coast Region. To work in a cross-functional role with all groups within PCC to ensure we are progressively moving the business forward. Support the AE/Sales team as needed. Direct sales effort to End User and EPC base is required. Enthusiastic, “can-do” attitude is a must. Position reports to Business Development Manager.

Technical background required. (Chemical or Mechanical engineer typical but not required), preferably experienced in selling large capital equipment to industry. Experience with pollution control (APC) or combustion a plus. Minimum 5+ years selling and market development experience required. Preferred location is southeast/gulf coast. (TX, LA, OK). Key job duties:
  • Direct sales to high profile customers
  • Support – Aftermarket initiative
  • Interface with reps as appropriate
  • Identify, find and develop potential projects in target area.
  • Development and drive strategic account initiative to high profile corporate accounts
  • Development of strategy goals in line with overall business model
